Last updated: October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Mark'd collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our GCSE and IGCSE revision service.

1. Information we collect

• Account details: your email address, and your name if you sign up with Google.

• Profile information you provide: your qualification (GCSE/IGCSE), subjects, exam boards, exam dates, and tier or option selections.

• Study activity: your practice sessions, scores, answers, marked mistakes, and generated revision content.

• Content you upload: notes or images you submit to generate flashcards or summaries.

• Technical information needed to run and secure the service.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• create and secure your account and let you sign in;

• generate revision notes, flashcards, practice questions and marking feedback;

• track your progress and produce grade predictions;

• personalise content to your subjects, exam boards and exam dates; and

• keep the service safe and improve it.

3. AI processing

To create revision content, the text you provide (for example a topic, a question, or notes you upload) is sent to third-party AI providers who process it on our behalf. We use this only to generate your revision material. Please do not upload anything you would not want processed in this way.

4. Children's privacy

Mark'd is for students aged 13 and over. We ask you to confirm you are 13 or over when you sign up, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 18, please use Mark'd with the permission of a parent or guardian.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run Mark'd (such as hosting, AI processing, and email delivery), and where we are required to by law.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information, except where we must keep it for legal reasons.

7. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or ask us to stop certain processing. You can delete your account from within the app, and you can contact us using the Help & Support section for any other request.

8. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as dark mode), and understand how the service is used.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no service can guarantee complete security. Please keep your password private.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let you know in the app.
